“In medias res”, in between land and water, between Chioggia and the Adriatic sea. Sottomarina appears to visitors looking for a specific polarity, giving character to the territory and attracting visitors from neighboring areas.
Regenerate the lagoon landscape…through a deep renovation of a dune, generated in a single time leap by wind- and sea-currents which can move sand and erode the land, thus modeling “Laduna”.
Lagoon park: an urban park with direct view over the sea, featuring a constant mix of elements by intersecting local green covers and various equipped areas.
Identifying a border … to overcome the marginalization cyclically characterizing the area around Sottomarina di Chioggia, thus creating a new border to interact with the advancing dunes and to sew together the fibres of the urban portion behind.
Human settlement: a tough, solid margin, fully developed and rich in different functions, in constant dialogue with buildings at the back and with a direct view over the lagoon park and the sea.
Relating to each other .. and connecting through selection of end-users and specific morphology so as to link the various aspects of the project and connect the new lagoon urban organism with the rest of the city.
A new connection system: the various users’ categories structure a quality connective system, with separate project routes, each provided with a personal morphology.
