The original design of middle-class houses was characterized by a long internal corridor bringing to a sometimes infinite sequence of living rooms and bedrooms with a view over the inner courtyard.
The need to host a new family, but also to obtain a small professional studio, leads to a transformation of the classic installation, starting from moving the distributing corridor. The inner backbone of the house, thus, gives way to services and equipment: bathroom, kitchen, closet. The private house is preceded by the professional studio, with a new front door located inside the flat, which revolves around a sequence of spaces, with no need of a corridor, thanks to a simple doorway from living room to bedroom.
The actual flat feels intimate and comfortable, strictly private but naturally expanding towards the studio appendix if need be, thanks to the dividing door.
